Klondike Derby at Camp Robert Drake (2023)
Our sled team nearly made it to the finals, coming 2nd place in the semifinals.
In this year's annual Klondike Derby, it was very cold, despite the lack of snow on the ground. It is that very same lack of snow on the ground that we are blaming our unfortunate loss in the sled race on. Lots of fun was had, as you can probably tell from the image above. No awards were won by troop 101, but we must remember - it's not about the trophies we win, it's about the friends we made along the way.
Scout Sunday (2023)
One of our scouts shares a story about Klondike Derby with the congregation.
This year's scout Sunday was held (as per usual) at the Savoy United Methodist Church, where we hold our scout "meetings" every Thursday. Conducting a service at the church during scout Sunday is our way of giving back to the church (seeing as they charge us zero dollars and zero cents to hold meetings there). During the service, scouts share stories of camping, high adventure, say prayers, etc.
